This research brief summarizes a randomized controlled trial examining the impact of the Instructional Intensification Protocol (IIP) on reading growth among elementary students at risk for academic failure. The study found that students in schools implementing IIP demonstrated significantly greater gains in reading achievement, particularly those in the lowest performance quartile, compared to peers in control schools. Results highlight the effectiveness of collaborative, data-driven instructional practices embedded in general education to accelerate student learning and support inclusive outcomes.
